Don Middlebrook returns to Margaritaville Nashville

Our trop-rock buddy from Michigan, Don Middlebrook, is on his way home from MOTM in Key West and will stop in Nashville once again to play the Chill Bar at Margaritaville Nashville on Wednesday, November 16th from 5pm until 9:30pm!!

Don did such a great job entertaining the pholks back in October, that Margaritaville invited him back for MORE trop rock songs and parrothead phun! Don is still celebrating his newest CD/DVD release, Tailspin, and would love to share it with you! As usual he’ll also have new and old CD’s and T-shirts to sell and crazy stories to tell!

So if you missed him in October, don’t let this 2nd opportunity pass you by. For those of you who DID come out last time, c’mon back y’all! Mark your calendars and bring your friends to celebrate hump day at Margaritaville with Don Middlebrook!

Happy Hour, new officer announcement and club biz recap

November 18 7-10PM Happy Hour Pizza Party (BYOB and a snack to share), new club officer announcement and MCPHiNs 2011 club biz recap, at our club treasurer’s home in the West End/Hillsboro area. Email Jim at jimnash@aol.com with your RSVP and he’ll give ya his address. There will also be a Parrothead Trivia game and prizes. This month’s charity will be the Salvation Army Angel Tree Forgotten Angels program which provides Christmas gifts for underprivileged kids.

In addition to the following events please also think about running for a club office yourself or nominating someone to be a club officer in 2012. Elections will be held at the November club business meeting/Happy Hour and without officers there will be no club so please step up and take your turn.

15	Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Nashville Walk 8am-noon at LP Field in Nashville, TN. Email our VP & Special Events Director Kat katinhat22@gmail.com for team details or go to our team page to join or make a donation. (This is a club points event.)
22	The Haunted PHlocking Happy Hour & Costume Party 6pm-? at Jamie (club charity director) and Dave’s house in Hermitage, TN. Food provided by Margaritaville, BYOS (Bring Your Own ‘Spirits’), drinks and a side dish to share. Please help us “Party with a Purpose” by bringing your spare change and aluminum can pull-tabs to donate to Pennies for Patients. This is a charity that helps the Nashville Ronald McDonald House, a “home away from home” for families of critically ill children receiving inpatient or outpatient medical care at Nashville area hospitals. We will also be collecting donations for a children’s after school program in Davidson County who lost supplies and equipment due to vandalism. This program is a part of the YMCA School Aged Students Program. Categories for items on their Wish List include: games, science, art, reading, sports and other misc supplies needed to run a children’s care program. FYI – Dine Out For No Kid Hungry Week at Margaritaville Nashville

During the week of Sept. 18 – 24 2011 dine out at Margaritaville Nashville and you’ll be helping end childhood hunger in America! Margaritaville will be donating a portion of their proceeds that week to Share Our Strength’s Dine Out For No Kid Hungry.

More than 16 million kids in America struggle with hunger. Share Our Strength connects these kids to the food they need, not just today, but for the long term. Share Our Strength invests the funds raised through Dine Out For No Kid Hungry in its growing number of state and city-based partnerships and in nonprofit organizations across the country. The investments are focused on helping end childhood hunger in the following ways:
* Helping to feed more kids during the summer when school lunches are not available.
* Helping more kids start the school day off right by connecting them to school breakfast.
* Helping afterschool programs provide nutritious meals and snacks.
* Helping families get the food they need at home, by improving access to SNAP (food stamps) and WIC.
* Teaching families how to prepare affordable, healthy meals, and bringing fresh and healthy food options to high-risk communities.
